In short
- What it is: a free, printable 4-page PDF foundation repair quote comparison worksheet.
- Pages 1-2: a grid with one column per quote, from diagnosis and method to warranty, permit and price.
- Page 3: 10 questions to ask every company, plus red flags.
- Page 4: notes, pier sketches and a reference-call log.
Foundation quotes rarely line up: different methods, different pier counts, different warranties. This free foundation repair quote comparison worksheet puts up to three Lubbock quotes in one grid so you compare the work, not just the bottom line.

What the grid asks for
| Row | What to write down |
|---|---|
| Diagnosis | What moved, by how much, and why |
| Method | Pressed concrete piles, steel or helical piers, shimming, mudjacking or polyjacking, and why that one |
| Piers or supports | How many, how deep, and whether locations are on a sketch |
| Engineer | Whether one reviews the design or signs off, and whether they are independent of the company |
| Warranty | What is covered, length, whether it transfers to a buyer, conditions and exclusions |
| Paperwork | Permit (who pulls it, who pays) and insurance certificate |
| Timing and price | Start date, time to finish, payment schedule, total price and price per pier |
Compare price last. A much lower bid can mean fewer piers or a narrower scope. Fill in every row above first, then read the total. See our foundation repair cost guide for planning ranges.
Ten questions to ask every company
- What caused the movement, and how will the plan address the cause?
- What method are you proposing, and why not the alternatives?
- How many piers or supports, how deep, and where?
- Will an engineer review the design or inspect the finished work?
- Do I need a permit, and who handles it?
- What does the warranty cover, for how long, and does it transfer to a buyer?
- What is the payment schedule, and what if more work is needed?
- How much leveling do you expect, and what happens to doors, walls, tile and plumbing?
- Can I see your insurance certificate and talk to recent customers?
- How long will the job take, and how will you protect landscaping and the interior?
The PDF has all ten, with a checkbox for each. The longer reasoning is in our guide to choosing a foundation repair company.
How to use it
- Book two or three inspections
Many companies offer a free or low-cost inspection, but they also want to sell the repair.
- Ask each for a written quote and warranty text
Fill in one column per company during or right after each visit.
- Look for blank cells
A blank means the quote did not say. Ask, and write the answer in.
- Call references and use the notes page
If diagnoses differ a lot, consider an independent engineer's report.
Planning aid, not engineering advice. The worksheet does not diagnose your foundation or say what a fair price is. We are a referral service, not a repair company or engineer, and we do not endorse any company. Verify any license or credential a company claims.

Frequently asked questions
What is in the foundation repair quote comparison worksheet?
It is a 4-page printable PDF. Pages 1 and 2 are a grid with one column for each of up to three quotes: company, diagnosis, method, pier count, depth and locations, engineer involvement, warranty and transferability, permit, insurance, inclusions, start date, payment schedule and price. Page 3 lists 10 questions to ask every company and common red flags. Page 4 is for notes.
Is the worksheet really free?
Yes. Download it from this page and print it for personal use. It is a planning aid, not engineering advice.
How many quotes should I compare?
Two or three written inspections is a practical number. It is enough to see where diagnoses and prices agree or differ, and few enough to compare carefully. The grid has three columns.
What if the quotes disagree about what is wrong?
If the diagnoses are very different, consider an independent structural engineer's report. The engineer has no repair to sell, and the report can be one plan that several companies bid on equally.
Does the worksheet tell me what a fair price is?
No. It helps you check that each quote covers the same work. For planning ranges, see our foundation repair cost guide, which are estimates and not quotes.
